Home Inspection Training

Finish work refers to the methods, materials, and treatments that comprise the interior and exterior finished surfaces of a building. The purpose of this course is to familiarize you with interior finishes, including floor finishes, wall finishes, and ceiling finishes. You will also learn about exterior finishes, which consist of the entire outside surface of a building, including wall coverings, ornamentation, and protective coatings, such as paint.

After completing this course, a professional should understand:

  • Plaster work
  • Gypsum board
  • Ceramic tile work
  • Plastics
  • Wood flooring, mortar-set flooring, poured-in-place flooring, resilient flooring, carpeting, and acoustical work
  • Painting, including pigmented coatings, clear coatings, bituminous coatings, miscellaneous coatings, and paint application
